The project intervenes in a building from the beginning of the sec. XIX with 4 floors, located on the east slope of Jardim da Estrela hill. It was in an advanced state of degradation, but with some fractions occupied.
The basic principle of the intervention was the recovery of the entire building, the construction of a new floor leveling the height of the building with that of the neighboring buildings and the replacement of the illegal annexes of the patio with new constructions integrated into the complex.
The rooms vary in position between floors depending on whether there is a garden to the West, or a view to the East. To minimize the impact of these differences on the infrastructure, the kitchens and bathrooms were placed adjacent and in the center of the apartment, so that connection to the courete is always guaranteed.
