Madalena Duarte Silva and Joana Pinheiro were born in 1971 and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto in 1995. They did their Erasmus at the Facultat d'Architettura dell'Universitá degli Studi di Firenze in Italy. Joana did a Master in Proyectacion Urbanístican at the Polytechnic University of Catalunya, Barcelona, and an MBA at the Católica Porto Business School.

 

They always worked together, initially in collaboration at the Risco atelier between 1996 and 2011 and then created the CdA Arquitectura atelier in 2011. The atelier has offices in Porto and Lisbon.

 

They have developed architectural projects in the area of urban rehabilitation, housing, commerce, offices and Public Space for several Municipal Councils.

 

Of recent works, the reconversion of the Public Space  from Av. da República, for the Lisbon City Council, and the rehabilitation of several residential buildings in the cities of Lisbon and Porto.
