These 2 urban conversion projects focus on two important arteries of the Municipality of Moita where there is a conflict between the urban function that these streets should ensure and the road crossing to which they are subjected.
In both cases, we wanted to clarify and prioritize the carriageways to favor Public Transport, improve bus shelters, increase the number of pedestrian crossings, and reinforce the alignment of existing trees.
In the case of Av. 1º de Maio, the strategy included the reduction of parking (from spine to longitudinal), the creation of a bidirectional cycle path connecting to the existing ones, the reinforcement of the alignment of existing trees and the creation of occasional wooded spaces in the widening of the sidewalk and the placement of of some benches in shady areas that invite you to stay.
For the conversion of the road to zone 30 of the former EN 11-1 of Baixa da Banheira, the project foresees the adoption of a common profile for the entire avenue, with wider sidewalks, longitudinal parking on both sides and the reinforcement of afforestation on the side. South. On the north side of the avenue, a sidewalk strip is created in colored concrete (ochre) on comfortable pavement, which  extends to the crosswalks and crosses the entire avenue, highlighting the main intersections, and which also makes a direct connection to the Municipal Park and the passages under the train line.
